L2 Visa Visiting Canada from USA?

I am living in California, USA, and I am on a L2 Visa (father is on L1)...We will be applying for permanent residency soon. In about 2 -3 months (Christmas time), I would approaching to go back to visit Canada, which is where on earth we just moved from (I AM a citizen of Canada). Would this affect my L2, or Permanent Residency applicaton at all?

It will take much longer than a couple of months to bring green card from the day your father applies since it is based on Employment Based. As long as you have valid Visa stamped within your passport, you won't have any problem traveling.
As a citizen of Canada, you do not really have an L-2 VISA because citizens of Canada are exempt the VISA requirement pursuant to 8 CFR 212.1(a). What you have is an I-94 endorsed to show that you hold been admitted as an L-2.

Even though you and your family enjoy applied for permanent resident status in the U.S., you may travel without harm your applications.

Certain applicants for adjustment of status before USCIS are not considered to have abandoned their applications simply by have departed from the U.S., even if they did not obtain an advance parole prior to their departure. The following aliens fall in the exceptions to the general rule:

H-1 and L-1 nonimmigrants, and their dependent family members.

You do not call for an advanced parole letter to travel outside the U.S.and come back as long as your father continues to work for the company that petitioned for him as an L-1.
