I'm looking for an Aupair on a J1 Visa who get married and stayed surrounded by the U.S.?
I came to the U.S. 2 years ago as an Au Pair on a J1 Visa. It says on the back of my Visa that I own to return to my country, which is germany, and stay there for 2 years in order to apply for another Visa surrounded by the U.S. I got married 5 months ago. They still want me to go home, but I don't want to leave my husband for 2 years. The Immigration Office told me to apply for a Waiver. I did that 6 weeks ago and I still hold not heard back from them. They didn't even cash the money command yet. When I called, they told me that they are processing documents from 2006. I can't wait that long! My driver license is expired, my ID, I can't hold health insurance,go to school, or seize a job. I feel like surrounded by prison. I called a couple of lawyers in Jacksonville FL but they told me I own to wait for the Waiver, and they can't do anything for me. That's unbelievable! I'm looking for people near the same experience or somebody who can help me!

Answers:
1) You swore to your organization that you would return for a minimum of 2 years.
2) You swore to the US government that you would return for a minimum of 2 years
3) The US government swore to the German government that it would distribute you back to Germany after your visa expired.
4) This is the way an exchange program works. If you didn't like it you shouldn't own signed up for an exchange program.
5) So you lie to both governments and then complain around what is happening to you? Good thing you didn't join the military!
If you are mortal told to go back to your country, the best thing that you could do is move about back. Worst case scenario is you being deported and that would be awfully disheartening for you and your husband. Contact an immigration lawyer and get some advices. Yes they are expensive, but when the case get complicated like this, they come in great need.

Since you only knew your husband 17 months when you got married, USCIS might be thinking that this is immigration fraud.
What papers did you folder with USCIS?
Did your husband file an I-130 and did you file an I-485 at like peas in a pod time? There's no way you'd be told to leave if you were here on a valid J-1 and did a concurrent file.
