my indian passport will be expired on 08/2009. what are the procedures to renewing my passport.?

jump to the IND embassy and renew it if you have UK residence permit. Or, if you want to go rear legs to IND on holiday, do it there, it doesnt make any difference. Maybe they can just extend it for you.
Go to the Indian Embassy or the Citizens Advice Bureau.
I think you should check with your embassy. Things surrounded by that area are changing due to the economic problems. You might not qualify immediately.
