I-94 expires since visa?
Hi,
The I-94 they issued at the airport at the time of my arrival from India expires before my visa. My visa is till october 2010 but my passport expires in 2009 so he gave me I 94 till 2009.
my cross-question is, can i extend my I-94 without leaving the country? if yes, what is the procedure? is it important for me to turn out of the country and enter again to extend the I-94?
Answers:
I-94 is only valid for 6 months (usually) - Yes you can extend the I94 (for another 6 months) but it works differently depending of your situation

Think of a visa as a "window of opportunity" during which you will be allowed to enter and depart. Upon arrival, they set the final parameter. Permission to stay cannot extend beyond expiration of your passport! You have to leave before the date on your I-94. No excuses. No delay. No extensions.
You have your deadline. If you cross it, you're dead!
Someone give the wrong dates at the Port of entry.
If you go out if the US and come vertebrae they may issue the I-94 until 2010. You can also apply for the H4 renewal get the new I-94.
