What's the best path to come to the US?

I am a french student, currently studying in France. Next year, i'll ask to be transferred to an American college. I will be studying in an BBA program.
During my studies, i will have a J-1 or F-1 visa, which is pretty easy to get from the embassy.
Yet, how can I proceed to stay in the US after I finish my studies?
