Why does Canada/US support immigrant?
Name off a few reasons why Canada/US or even you support immigrants?

the simple answer for the US is - Votes
The other posts forgot to mention -
1. They drain the welfare system (Approx. 5 Billion a year contained by CA alone)
2. They helped to close numerous hospital in CA (Since they receive treatment without paying for it)
3. Depress wages since they work for much smaller number
4. Raise auto insurance rates (from driving with no insurance) causing accidents that we adjectives have to pay for.
The USA and Canada (I suppose you could say aloud Australia too) are large countries, made up various states/provinces/areas that were once settlements of different nation. I.E. New England, USA is a British settlement, whereas California originally belonged to Mexico, and Florida was Spanish.
And besides that, immigrants have be going to these countries for hundreds of years looking for a new life of new opportunity, and to escape any discrimination in their own country. Most of these immigrants be European, but recent years have seen Asians and Africans migrating to them too. The only forlorn exception is the African-Americans being the result of the slave trade.
You could say the reason USA and Canada support immigrant, because they both see themselves as multiracial and multicultural nations, in the historic sense.
Of course, in the 2000's it's plentifully more difficult to move to the USA and Canada because the populations have grown of course, and you have to concealing outfit as much of the native workforce as possible, before resorting to using immigrants. But frequent (not all) Americans and Canadians are still happy to accept immigrants, provided they're allowed and want to assimilate into their culture and give something back, rather than newly take.

3. America has always be known as the "melting Pot" we praise diversity and always hold it was what makes us, well us
4. Immigrants provide a steady flow of income, newly think an immigrant will have to either bring their family or go visit families this results contained by much income
5. Immigrants come here often because they love this country, we want patriots and people that love us, why wouldn't we?
In America we love immigrants, especially if they come here because they have a dream. We seriously win off on that, "I came to America with 5 bucks and a dream and presently I'm a millionaire," stuff. It makes us feel all heat up and fuzzy inside because we're all immigrants; unless you're Native American, somewhere not really all that long ago someone come here with a dream or they came here on a slave boat, but either channel they weren't here originally so who are we to say now that so and so can't come? After all there's still plenty of room. All we ask is that you not enjoy a criminal record, not blow stuff up, and have goals for any you or your kids. Some of America's greatest entrepreneurs weren't born here.
Canada - to fill constraint for jobs and to fill up all the futile spaces,.
USA - only to look good in the eyes of the world.
USA would fairly not allow anyone else in - too embarrasing that they cannot even control their own borders.
Actual LEGAL immigrants are typically the best of other countries with the exception of those who gain entrance by family relationship who run the gamut of great to mediocre.
Think around it, there are only a few paths to ongoing residence
You either have a family associate here
You have one million dollars to invest here to create at least ten jobs
You own a skill in demand and an employer that needs you adequate to be willing to sponsor you
Or, your one of the few that win a diversity lottery.
The family class of immigration is the least stringent, even so, you cannot be a criminal. For the other classes, you certainly have to contribute a substantial amount of value to the country to be accepted. 50,000 associates per year can get in through diversity lottery. Otherwise, you MUST be wealthy or significantly skilled.
Accepting highly skilled research scientists and investors is a good thing for pretty much any country.
