I freshly get my us citizenship. How do i petition for a green card for my 25 year ancient sons.?

How many years does the whole process take?

stay away
You hold to prove you have sufficient income and assets to support them (how many?) all and guarantee a $30,000 bond. If you qualify to complete their affidavits of support and they apply and are agreed for immigration, then the length of time they wait for concurrence to enter the US will take a number of years, depending on which country they are citizens of and how many family are in line ahead of them. It can easily bring 10 to 12 years.
You can directory an I-130 in the F1 family preference category. At the moment, those embezzle between 6 to 15 years before they are valid for use from the time they are filed. You can check this out for yourself by going to travel.state.gov and the visa section. look underneath immigrant visas and then Visa Information for Immigrants. Check out the Visa Bulletin. While you're there check out the Federal Poverty Guidelines. that will show you how much income you'll need to show to prove you can support your son. At 125% of the poverty guidelines, you'll have need of to show $17,500 for yourself and your son, unless you have a wife and other people to support, then the dollar amount will move about up. The bit about $30,000 bond is nonsence that Ibu Guru keeps repeating, but never documents, because he can't. So, ignore it, because you can look it up for yourself.
it depends on the country of citizenship...

between3 years to 19 years (the loaf for children from Philippines can be that long)
you would apply for the I-130 application for each son. you mail this out. they will send you a catch sight of of action stating that they received your application.. about 3-5 years later, they would transport you another letter saying that they approved the I130 and give you a "priority date" (which will be explained as you read down).

adjectives in all, in my ancestral experience, it took 6.5 years from the time my mom filed the I130 until a visa number became available.. once the visa number becomes available, you would submit the I485 application and others (work visa and travelling visa) for adjustment of status. later it'll take 6-8 months for the interviews with an immigrant officer..of course you and your sons would own to attend.

check this website: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bullet…

as you scroll down, get to know where it says "household preference." your sons would be under category 1.

scroll down until you see the first table. the dates you see is the "priority date." when you submit the I-130, and immigration receive this that is your priority date. in my family's experience, we received this letter next to the priority date about 3 years after our mom sent in the I130. once your priority date is current under category 1, you submit the I485 adjustment of status application beside traveling visa and work visa applications.

now this also depends from what country you're from. if you're from mexico or the philipines, it would take much much much longer than 6.5 years as you can see from the table.

if your sons get married to non- u.s. citizens while your application for them is impending, their category changes, and this would take much much longer, as you can see from the website.

another thing is that the gov other have a backlog. if you check this website on a monthly basis, you would see that the dates would stay surrounded by one date forever or go back a couple of years. this is frustrating....

and another information, god forbid this never happens, but if your sons aplications are upcoming, and the petitioner (you) happen to pass away, the application becomes null and void.

my sister and i (both over 21) just went in for our adjustment of status interview near our u.s. citizen mom last Friday. we passed it and will be receiving our gc in the post in the next 2 months!

good luck!
