Should individual states own more power over immigration?

We are seeing this to some extent--with some cities being more lenient towards illegal immigration and giving them ID cards, and turning a blind eye to the improper immigration, "sanctuary cities" and others reinforcing federal laws and implementing E-Verify. Do you think this would oblige or hurt the country?

No.It is the responsibility and power of the Federal command to enforce our immigration laws. Immigration laws are not regulated by states, but by one central establishment. If they were regulated by states then some states couldnt even be considered a part of the US anymore. All states must abide by one set of immigration law and are protected by ICE and border officials which are paid by the federal government from taxpayer money. Those taxpayers expect to be protected against unsanctioned immigration if they are paying for that protection.
The unlawful entrance of immigrants should not be limited to enforcement by Federal Government. Each state should have the responsibility to enforce and restrict unlawful entrance by unlawful immigrant. It is a Constitutionally guaranteed right.

Unlawful entrance by immigrants is a number one cause of bankruptcies surrounded by local economies. Hospitals failing due to free mandated medical care for unlawful immigrant. Along with a number of other problems associated with unlawful immigration.

Unregulated immigration is a hugh boil on the *** of this country.
This is a handy excuse Federal government to enforce our immigration laws. Immigration laws so what happen when the feds enforce the law the same as when the local police do. You just cannot win. So If I rob a sandbank the local police cannot do anything because this is considered a Federal crime which means only the Federal government can enforce Federal law, all police depts must stay out of the way and alert the FEDS they have a crime, since it is the responsibility of the Federal organization to enforce all Federal crimes with local police being fixed to local crimes.
No. If we could control interstate activity, what California did would not matter to us at all. We cannot do that, and surrounded by fact, it is limited by law, and the immigration directive needs to apply to all the states.
