~~~ J1 Visa information needed ~~~?

I will be applying for an Internship in the USA so will need to apply for a J1 Visa. I have looked at requirements, but different sites speak different things which is very confusing and some of them say I will need to show $50,000 as robustness insurance? Is that right??

Also I know some J1 Visas are subject to 2 year Foreign Residency (where you go back home and have to stay in attendance for 2 years before applying again).
Are all J1 Visa holders subject to this? I know it can be waived but I hear that not all are subject to it. So how can I make sure I'm not subject to the 2 year Foreign Residency.
I will be applying from the UK if that helps.

I am about to send mine in and I enjoy a few questions. Do I need a lawyer. I call one and they said it would be 1,000 dollars plus the application fee. I looked at the forma n-400 and its all straightforward. Only question I hold is I had a speeding ticket 4...
