How does immigration surrounded by the U.S. from centuries ago compare to against the law immigration today?

seriously doubt that immigrants from centuries ago who built this nation were promised to be handed over the "American Dream" at the expense of others. or that they be awaited with welfare and other benefits. apples and oranges?

As Paul has stated it is the same and the purpose for this is simple. Immigration Reform dates back to the Slavery time frame. Besides look at where adjectives Eyes was on back then and in a minute, The ever Famous "South". There's only two things People Especially those of Color need to know about this piece and they are one it was Born in a time when Slavery was markedly heavy and two it mainly keeping these Human Beings out of the "South". Many of us know all too in good health about the South and it's Racism. Do your own Studies on this and see for yourself. Source(s): www.splcenter.org
Unless you're a "Native American" we all came here without permission. The difference is that the builders of our nation are idolized while immigrants today get discriminated against, taken plus of, and have their lives ripped apart and ridiculed. They are not being promised the American Dream, most do not receive any type of benefits, make minimum wage, wage taxes they have no way of getting back, and live apart from their family. Most do not come here in search of the American Dream, they don't want houses with white picket fence, two kids and a poodle. They come here to make better money to support their families. Most would be more than happy to come here for 5 months out of the year, do our dirty work, and be in motion home to their families. We don't have enough programs contained by place for this to happen, hence illegal immigration. Immigrants from the past be not promised anything, they wanted freedom and they took it at a high cost to them and to the people they encounter already calling the US home. I guess that means todays immigrants should build an army and just start taking over combat for their freedom, then they will be honored.
It doesn't.... Not at adjectives...

Back there, they were invited. Back there we didn't own laws that regulated the immigration. Back there, they came, and they worked.. they did not come and collect welfare.
The ones who came here wanted a better energy and become part of America. Now they don't want to be part of America they want part of it and don't want to become an American.
It's the same...

well the average energy span of an illegal immigrent family has gone up since the 30s-40s
Centuries ago (200 years ago) in attendance was no such thing as illegal immigration. They be taking all comers.
People who legally immigrated to the US years ago (like my parents), came here to be Americans. To work and live the American dream. They come here not looking for a hand out. They also didn't want to bring their former countries here with them, that's why they left. Come to SoCal and see what the illegals hold done. They have turned San Fernando, Sun Valley, East L.A., Pacoima, Panorama City, Van Nuys, etc. into Tijuana North.
