Difference between Skilled Worker application & Regular Skilled Worker application for immigrate to Canada?
My fiancé and I are planning to immigrate to Canada together.
He will apply through Skilled Worker application, and I will apply as his dependent. Both of us are originally from mainland China , and have been living in the United States for almost ten years for university and work. So the question is: should we choose Simplified Skilled Worker application or Regular Skilled Worker application? And what is the difference?
Answers:
You MUST use the regular application if you are living in USA.
You must use the regular process if:
- you have be lawfully admitted to Canada for a period of at lowest possible one year and you are submitting your application at the Canadian visa office in Buffalo or
- you have be lawfully admitted into the United States for a period of at lowest one year and you are submitting your application at the Canadian visa office in Buffalo
- you are a provincial nominee
- you enjoy been selected by Quebec
- you are eligible for points for arranged employment.
If none of the situations described above applies to you, then you must use the simplified application process.

The difference is that within USA you must submit ALL your documents with the regular application all at the same time.
The simplified application (for adjectives other countries) is where you submit ONLY the filled in application form, and CIC ask for adjectives the documents at a later time. This gives people more time to catch their documents together while the application form still holds their place in the queue.
