What citizenship my child will hold?

My baby was born in the UK few days ago.We are not British , we solely came here for studying and our visa are student visas.I wonder what kind of citizenship my baby will enjoy ? British or ours?
I've checked the home office website and it says 'If you were born contained by the United Kingdom on or after 1 January 1983, you are a British citizen if at the time of your birth one of your parents was: * a British citizen; or
* legally settled in the United Kingdom.
. We are not British but living legitimately here , do you think my baby can get the British citizenship?

I hope not your child will be under matching chiizenship as its parents if you are on a visa and you live in that country and clame no other citizenship that is the place that that child will be a citizen

as in my valise i am an american if my wife and i went on vacation to europe and we had a child but our citizenship be in the us that is what our child will be not in the europen citizenship of what ever country we are surrounded by
I suggest you move about to the Registry Office. They will tell you.
I am British and my husband is Egyptian and my children were automatically British and now hold dual nationality.
Going by the Home Office website I would say that your child probably is eligible you could also check with your Embassy.
Legally no not a citizen ( for very soon ) but he/she could apply for citenzenship because he/she was born here, and will be issued with a britsh birth certificate, but not untill his/her 18th birthday. Your child have the right to live in this country as long as you are legal and be entitled to everything that any other english child would be like robustness care and education! They sorted that one out a long time ago to stop this from happening. It's indistinguishable in most E.U countries. It wont make a difference to you renewing your visa's just because your child be born here.

Edit: ok i should of said earlier, your child can apply for this when he/she turns 18 but there is no guarantee's that he/she will be awarded it. Like others have said and even yourself your singular here on a visa. If when your visa expires and is not renewed and you have to leave and then your child remains surrounded by your home country untill it's 18th birthday then he/she would proberly not get citenzenship. However if you remain LEGALLY in the country untill the child reach it's 18th birthday then yes the child has grounds for british citizenship and would 99.9% get it.
No your infant is not a british citizen. Just because he was born there does not make the child british otherwise everyone would be going to the UK to contribute birth. The childs nationality is the same of your country of citizenship. as far as i am aware if the child is born and registered in this country later the child will be Britisher citizen, it is your choice if you want the child to have duel citizenship with your own nationality
I believe that your child would be considered to hold dual citizenship. The child will defiantly have the parents citizenship, and will have the country they are born within. Your citizenship will be the primary one, meaning you can get a passport from your country for you child. he will not i am afraid, he will get ur residency.
he would have gotten the british citizenship if at least one of you were
to julez: ur 18 so at the time u be born the law in the UK was different, just now the law changed and i am very sure about that
You are just students, you are not permanently settled. Therefore, your child is whatever you are. It is not British. Yes you are legally recognized but you are NOT permanent. Therefore your child will have the MOTHERS citizenship.
You are reasonably living there, settled would mean getting a residence in the country.

Your infant belongs to your home country , not britain.
No. 'fraid not. Ha, you're screwed.
Most likely your babe will have the same citizenship as you. :-) JAMAICA MONNNN!!
your baby will be a citizen of the UK and of the country in which you live. When he/she turns 18 they will receive paperwork asking them to choose which citizenship they want (dual, english, or other). If they choose dual or english, they will probably have to travel back and do the paperwork.
