Are adjectives the antis here supporters of the English-only movement?
Are you?If you strongly believe that some groups segregate themselves via language, why do you think that an official expressions would change anything?Thank you

I don't realize the question, because it is about two different issues.
Some people answer illegal immigration because of racism, but there are a lot more who stand firm illegal immigration because it's illegal.
Your question is a unmarked version of the old "people who refute illegal immigration are just being racist" issue.
There are many antis, by the way, whose first language is not English.
What do you mean by "adjectives the antis here"?
The Official Language of the USA is English, and should be made so by Legal Legislation.
It will force all peoples to learn and use one Language. A Country is united by a adjectives language, and that is what is needed.
Peoples can use other languages within their homes, and among those who share the language.
By making English our Legally Official Language, all government forms and transactions will be done contained by English only. This will force newcomers to adapt to the Language of their Chosen New Country, as other Nationalities hold previously done.
This is not being anti anything. It is simply stating that if you want to be an American Citizen, then learn, and use, the American Language!
No offense or anything, but if someone who doesn't speak english is going to move to the US to live here permanently, it is common courtesy to speak our poetry.
If I were to move to another country I would learn their language, and would particularly not expect everyone around me to learn english to make things easier for me.
If someone who moves here is unwilling to learn english I regard as they are lazy, and need to go spinal column to where they come from.
I don't mind if someone speaks their native tongue at all, but if they expect me to revise it simply because they moved here that pisses me off.
Quite simply, if we do not own a unified language, we cannot effectively communicate. If we cannot communicate effectively, how can we be a unified nation? Since the majority of us already here speak English, why should we be forced to regulation the way we do things to placate minorities? I don't feel the need to hold some formal legislation that declares English the language of the US.
It is the language that the Declaration of Independence be written in, the Constitution of the U.S., and the Bill of Rights.
That's official in my book.
IF someone wishes to live and work here, that's the vernacular they should learn to speak. ANd we shouldnt be forced to accommodate someone who does not.
Many of them are. They think that if the country have only one language ( which is unrealistic) that is going to make a contribution them jobs, that is going to resolve their financial situations, that is going to construct their children more intelligent, when in reality they will be the same, ignorants posting their revulsion against other ethnicities. SOME of them, of course not all. No.
America is the most diverse country in the world. We do not necessitate a national language.
I do believe that americas accepted language is a form of english, and ones breakdown to learn this language will only hurt them.
I speak a second language at home, but I still do not believe that any language bar English should be spoken in terms of service and in businesses.
If you can't speak English, you don't belong contained by this country. It would be a good way of forcing people to swot up English.
It would be the same as all other countries'language policies.
even though english is not an leader language in the US but considering its widely spoken, therefore those expect new immigrants to speak english in decree for them to assimilate in the American society HOTDAMN woman owwwwwwwww. I'd speak Farsi if it means you'd like it!!! Spanglish for strict language. Or pig latin it's easier.
Do you know how much it cost us english speaking citizens or residents to enjoy, voting information, dmv information etc,in all these other languages? If you cant speak or read english how is it that you are allowed to vote ? ONLY IN AMERICA. An allowed language simply establishes one language that everyone in the nation can communicate within. It is not meant to stop people from speaking other languages.
(Who are "the antis"?)
There are over 300 million people in the U.S.
82.1% speak English
10.7% speak Spanish
7.2% speak one of the other 174 language present in the US
3.6% are bilingual
23 states have official English talking laws
Language conflicts generally incorporate symbolic struggles over cultural, religious, ethnic, or national identity. Yet they represent more than contending philosophies of assimilation and disagrements about the rights and reasponsibilities of citizens over the true aim of Americanism.
I do believe that business and such things should be conducted in English.
However, a person should, and is able to, converse surrounded by whatever language that they prefer, whenever they want.
Just don't tell me I to enjoy to learn their language (whatever it may be) to conduct my business.
I am against anything other than English being used contained by Business and public, other than that I don't care if you speak pig latin. Yes they are. Its hard to touch superior when one only speaks one language.
I think citizens should be able to speak what ever language they want thats why its a free country
