Can my wife attain a visa to come to Canada while her eternal residency papers are going through?
Hi, I'm a Canadian citizen but my wife isn't and she is overseas while I'm in Canada. I was wondering if anyone knew if she could procure any kind of visa to come visit while her papers go through for everlasting residency?
Thanks

i don't think she wishes a visa unless she needs to work. if she's just "visiting" then she can only just come. i don't know how your laws are but if you're married doesn't that make her a citizen.
probably but i don't know the details but i do know this guy who came from mexico illegal but he have a passport and he was able to get a driver's license, so probably your wife could procure a visa somehow. you should do some research on those legal processes or e mail a government approved in canada about that
i know in the us its called advanced pa-roll.....
my uncle was competent to get a visitors visa for his wife while everything was going through, she come to visit for three weeks.
as long as she can prove that she has ties to home and proof that she WILL GO HOME at the end of the visit - she can for sure try.
One of the questions on the application is something like - do you have any relatives within canada - and she will have to say YES.
Also if you send her copies of the application forms you both packed out, she can show them to immigrations or the embassy that will prove that she is applying legally to be in Canada.
you DID make copies right?
But if CIC denies her afterwards you cant do anything until the PR processing is complete. Source(s): PR in Canada
