Can we reschedule the biometrics appointment? If so, how long will we own to dally?

I have a few questions: My husband just get a receipt in the mail today for his first biometrics appointment from immigration. The merely problem is the appointment is set to be held in two weeks (Jan. 6th) when we’ll be in Wisconsin to see our parents for the holidays. Our plane tickets have already be bought and we don't want to pay the extra charge to change our tickets. Especially, since we’ve only be given a two week notice from USCIS. Is it possible to reschedule the appointment? If so, how? And when could we expect to get another appointment? Is it worth it to reschedule, or would we be setting ourselves up for months and months of waiting and the possible “loss of papers” scenario from immigration? Is there a website for more information or a place to reschedule? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks contained by advance!

Let me get this right, the most important day contained by your lives and you want to go on holiday ?I imagine with millions others waiting you will be put at the spinal column of the line and this could be months or years. I suggest you pay the extra charge on airline tickets as any GOV service is a nightmare, take it while you own it
You kind of answered your own question.

"Is it worth it to reschedule, or would we be setting ourselves up for months and months of waiting and the possible “loss of papers” scenario from immigration?"

You can try to go ahead of time date to the service center. Sometimes, Service center let you do that early. But there is no guarantee for anything when you are dealing beside USCIS.
i am in SC. when i wentfor my appointment i couldnt find my marriage card, and they just HAD TO HAVE IT. for the finger prints.... so, they told me i can come back "any wednesday or tuesday (not sure about the day) in need appointment". i assume they have a day when you can just come contained by and get it done. just contact the offfice you have to stir to and dont ask to reschedule, but if they have those days. they might not like to let everybody know more or less it, so people wouldnt just come whenever. but prints are not the interview, and it is not a huge deal as it seem. just call and ask.
the uscis has a website that will allow you to reschedule certain things, normally this shouldn't be too big of agreement, but I'm not positive, If I were you I would actually make a phone send for to uscis and talk to someone. I can remember all the websites but google should be able to backing you just fine.
I would keep the appointment you have at adjectives cost. To cancel and reschedule, I would think your application would be put at the bottom of the pile.

If this is important to you, maintain the appointment.
it would take atleast 4 months for another appointment
