If you are born within the U.S. to prohibited immigrant are you a citizen?
Answers:
Anyone born on American Soil (or army groundwork if in military) is a citizen.
Their parents do not become citizens just for having a child.
it does not matter the citizenship of the parents...If A CHILD is born on US soil, THAT CHILD is a us citizen.
The parent has to follow the immigration law in order to become a citizen. But, unfortunately they can apply for social assistance (welfare) because their child is a citizen. Its where on earth the term "anchor baby" came from. Illegal immigrants are rewarded for have children on US Soil, they get free money, and they do not apply for citizenship, because that would mean they would have to pay envelope into the system they reep benefits from.
A child born in the United States is a US citizen regardless of who the parents are. There is a very narrow exception to this, but it's so dying out that it doesn't matter. (14th Amendment).
The parents do not receive citizenship. In fact, they receive no immigration benefit at all by have a child here. What they do get is a mitigating factor in any immigration case they hold, in addition to a child who could possibly petition for their residency later surrounded by life, if laws do not change beforehand then.
The child, yes. The parents, no, though if they are caught, authorities will usually allow one to stay and take care of the child (almost always the mother) while the other is deported.
if conveniently misinterpreting the birthright amendment, yes. but should they? absolutely not! out near birthright citizenship for illegals! they can take their anchor babies with them
Yes.
For the second, do you tight-fisted that giving birth in the US makes you a citizen? No, it doesn't.
the child is... the parent is not
yup =D
anyone born here is auotmatically a us citizen duh
unfortunately for now yes, One of our Reps, Nathan Deal is trying to end birthright citizenship as it should be. Go Nathan. No your parents are still against the law alien lawbreakers and deserve deportation. Just because they have an anchor baby (correct term) it does not craft them legal, will not make them legal and they are still disrespecting law. Must be hard to know your parents are breaking laws daily. We are introducing tentative laws and sooner or later they will be caught and deported as these lawbreakers should be according to our law!!
unfortunately yes, for the parent no.*
