Student immigration (from UK to US or Canada)?

I'm 17, and applying for University (to study History) in the UK.
This is my last year of school that I'm within now...

Since I was quite young-looking I've wanted to live in America, or Canada.
Suddenly today it hit me that I don't want to live in England as an full-grown. I just don't want to settle down, and have children here.

But basically, my problems are-
1. I adjustment my mind a lot. I wanted to be a doctor (failed my science GCSE and am scared of ailing people...) last week... But I have looked-for to live in the US on/off for years...
2. I don't have enough money. I'd own to take 1 or 2 years off after school to bring enough money, and then move and start studying at 19 or 20.
3. I don't have ancestral in either country. I'd have to capture a visa which could be hard...
4. I want to live there after studying. Is that possible? Or should I complete my education here within the UK and try and move as a skilled worker later in my life (but because of Visa's... it's harder to receive a work Visa than a student Visa...)

Anyway if anyone can help me at all, all the websites are so complex to understand!
Oh, and I'm also going to talk to someone at my school for some warning.
