You may already be an Australian citizen or you may be eligible to apply for Australian citizenship. It all depends on when you be born and the nationalities of your parents at the time. Our Citizenship website has all the details of who is automatically a citizen and who is eligible to apply:

Unless you formally revoked your Australian citizenship (usually done in person at an Australian Consulate), you most likely never lost it and are considered a dual citizen of both Britain and Australia.

So long as you own your Australian birth certificate, you should be able to apply for an Australian passport at the nearest Australian Consulate.

Good luck! :o)
Please contact an immigration lawyer for advice.
To be honest contact IMMI contained by australia they will tell you all u need to know. hmm presently it is called DFAT, if U are in the USA then do a seach for an embassy nearest to you, an contact them for the best an right suggestion. Do u hold a aussie passport? or are ur parents australian? Just because u were born here doesnt mean a lot unless ur parents are australian, if british another story again... DFAT have ur answers. cheers
If you've never formally renounced your citizenship then contact the Australian Embassy & see how you walk about applying for a passport.

Both Australia & the UK recognise dual citizenship so you wouldn't have had to renounce your Australian citizenship when you become a British citizen.
You where born contained by Australia so aren't you already considered a legal citizen if you move back?
