How do you step going on for becoming a citizen....?
If you have lived in the states for 20 years and crossed over illegally? I own a friend that moved her when he was 4 and were trying to help him acquire citizenship and we would like to know the process and if he qualifies for the amnesty that ended surrounded by 1995, we really have no clue where to start.... please no racist remarks...were trying to lend a hand an actual person, thats wat he is wether or not he is ilegal or not. thank you very much.

i don't think citizens that came over the US illegaly can adjust status. if caught, they can be banned from the US for 10 years.
He has to return to his home country and return the permitted way. He cannot change his status if he is in the country improperly. He could face a ban on coming back if they find out he be here illegally. If he would have returned to his home country before he turned 18 1/2,his one here illegally would not have been held against him. But,since he didn't do that and have now lived here as an adult, his immigration status is his own doing and can be held against him.
He does not qualify for any amnesty that was granted within the past. His parents are citizen? or residents? because the amnesty is over, i think he needs to collaborate to a immigration lawyer before he star to do same thing, because if he do same entry wrong if may get deport er even if he have 20 years here. don't do anything if you are not sure what u doing. talk to a immigration attorney first.
Now a days you don't need to be a citizen... Just be yourself... http://www.ice.gov/
I would ring I.C.E. and ask or I would have your friend contact an immigration attorney.
