Is America too accommodating?
Who thinks that this country has/is becoming too accommodating to spanish-speaking immigrants?
There is an entire food aisle in my local, markedly small "super" Wal-Mart dedicated for spanish labeled products. Also, a whole movie section dyed-in-the-wool solely to films dubbed in spanish.
I'm not trying to be mean and I know not everyone will agree with me, so please preserve your answers civil.

I guess it's a selling tactic for companies. If they simply sell products labelled in English, most plausible they may lose out on customers who can't read them. Since there is a demand for products that are geared toward the spanish population it's in the best interest of companies to trade products and increase their revenues. I don't see it as America being too accommodating, it's a matter of business and profits. Here in Canada, most market have an ethnic aisle and there are products from Spain, Italy, Greece, etc....it's all in the region of supply and demand.

When the stores and government accommodate all language fine. but they don't it is only spanish.
Lately the u.s has been too lenient near immigration, and this country hasn't made any effort to assimilate them, by having bilingual education and what not, so the immigrant feel as if they have no need to speak english by have everything in spanish, personally I think the U.s wants to be more strict on which people are allowed in this country

You are 100% correct. We cater to minorities because the government is afraid of a lawsuit. I feel that the senate goes overboard with the Latinos because they show up and vote.

No. America is being racist! Why Spanish? My wife speaks Mandarin (the most spoken language within the world). Is it not racist against Chinese that they do not have things in Mandarin? What about other language? Wal-Mart is very racist. My wife was in a headship training program and left after overhearing a comment "we don't want no f@cking chinks running our stores". Way too accommodating. That's why an executive language needs to be adopted. It's be American English forever and there is no need to have to type everything surrounded by Spanish and English. No other language speakers ask for it!! We are too accommodating and they feel too entitled.

My area has see a significant influx of Mexican immigrants. This has also brought a boom in Mexican restaurants, shops, etc. I would expect duplicate thing if Russian immigrants began moving within.
