How does immigration know when I move off the USA?
I do know that they know everything but I am interested what system does immigration use to control when the person leaves the USA.
The reason I'm asking is when you enter the USA they always scan the passport or green card etc...but when you donate the country they never scan anything. So how exactly does immigration control that?

You are supposed to turn in the I-94 card when you leave the USA.
The airline company that you travel with informs immigration. That's why they ask for your passport and I-94.
They use a GPS chip.
Satellites and computers.
It's phone up technology.
When you come here on a visa you'll get a white card beside i-94 number on it.that stays in your passport.when you leave they will take it.I am sure they own a system for green card etc :)

I am asking because my friend is 'stuck' in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is a Mexican immigrant, but He flew to Uruguay from the United States. He was told that he can only stay contained by Uruguay for 90 days. He was going to go to Mexico a few days after the 90 days...
