An SUV driver who authorities said hit a pedestrian Monday night and fled the scene was charged Wednesday by Alcoa police officers. An Alcoa woman be also cited with knowingly allowing an unlicensed driver to drive her vehicle. Ernesto Herrera Hurtado, 39, Grayson Drive, Alcoa, was charged near leaving the scene of an accident with departure or injury, driving unlicensed and driving without insurance. According to authorities, Hurtado is an illegal immigrant.

Why Give Drivers’ Licenses to Illegals?
The right answer here isn’t obvious, but it is important.
Many people believe that unofficial immigrants shouldn’t be “rewarded” with drivers’ licenses. Fair adequate: the rule of law is important. There’s also a theory that denying banned immigrants “benefits” like driver licensing will fashion the country inhospitable enough that they will leave. This has not borne out, however. Denying bent immigrants licenses has merely cause unlicensed and untrained driving, with the hit-and-run accidents and higher insurance rates that flow from that.
This is an every day fact with these illegal lawbreakers, more nation have died at the hands of illegal aliens than surrounded by iraq or in afghanistan! something needs to be done. check out V.O.I.A.C. and see how many victims of dishonest aliens are just on that site.
I know how you feel. I live in NC and the State allows Illegals to get Drivers Licenses, Provides them with Health care and Welfare and allows them to Vote!
Our State Legislature is run by Democrats and the majority of Illegals vote Democrat so although Bills have be written to stop this intrusion on our State the Democrats refuse to allow these Bills to be voted on.
Just one more way Democrats steal elections.
While I agree that this personage shouldn't be in the US, not all illegal immigrant are bad drivers.
I can cite any number of times I've seen immigrants sagging out in front of Home Depot looking for day labor and a police officer drives right on by and won't even look at them.
Everybody gets their march orders from somewhere. Businesses put pressure on municipal leaders, municipal leaders put pressure on the police, and so forth and so on.
And the situation continues....
Why not blame the US cit owner of the vehicle ..she let him drive it ...
