To be a caregiver in Canada yes you must have the required experience. Would you want an untrained person to look after your children while you move about to work? No, I didn't think so.
You want to be a caregiver? Then any experience of say work in hospital, clinic, nursing home would abet. TIme looking after your granny or as a volunteer in a day care setting would comfort.
You can do a carers course at FE college and they might arrange placement. Many care homes are begging for staff, it is low pay and long hours, thickset physical work, but it will show you have experience,
