Amnesty for the Salvadorean refugee/immigrants?
I am the son a Salvadorean immigrant. My mother traveled to the US illegally to escape the Salvadorean civil war in the 80's. She be 18 when she entered the nation and was granted asylum as a displaced refugee after the death of her parents during the time of war. She received amnesty and was allowed to work legally, (500,000 Salvadoreans did this) She married my dad which was a legalized immigrant himself. In the 90's the clinton administration ended the umbrella for salvadoreans and my mother was deported at the age of 28. I be 9 and my sisters were 2 years old. My dad took custody of us for 2 years. My mom tried to legally get hold of a visa but her check book wasnt big enough to convince the American government that she was worth allowing within. She had to cross illegally to reunite with us and very soon 10 years later she has barely received her beyond repair residency. by US standards she needed to wait over a decade to legally live with us. What do suppose about the legal process of separating families. My mom be legally here when we were born. I dont understand why culture think the legal process for obtaining papers is graceful. Maybe if you have a large checkbook it maybe flowing. She taught us the value of education. Even though she never go to school she had value although the senate didnt think so.
Now I attend the University of California Berkeley and my brother attends Harvard University

Some of the info you give here may be erroneous. A substantial number of Salvadoreans were given Temporary Protected Status (TPS). This is lone temporary! It cannot lead to citizenship by law. If she be on TPS and overstayed the deadline, she would have been deported.
If she had be given refugee status (no Salvadoreans, as far as I know, were granted refugee status -- refugee status is determined by the UN, and refugees go to UN-run refugee camps), it would individual have been revoked for the commission of certain classes of crimes.
If she have kids when she was only allowed to be here temporarily, that's her fault. She did not enjoy to abandon you. Since she is a Salvadorean citizen, you have a right to citizenship in El Salvador and she could hold taken you with here. She could have applied for her husband's immigration, if he was not a Salvadorean.
There is no excuse for violate the law. And you will have to accept the reality that she abandoned you when she could have taken you with her lacking any difficulty whatsoever. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Stop making excuses for your mother's illegal and unconscionable acts. She have a long history of breaking the law, so it's her own fault.
No matter what the issue the United States can not afford to be the umbrella for the poor and unfortunate of the world. At some point we will accomplish a breaking point, we already allow to many people into the country to begin near. Sounds cruel but so is the world. How many people would you let into your enthusiasm boat?
Ask yourself why everyone decides to seek place of protection in the U.S.? Why not go Canada, Mexico, Brazil etc... People want things for free and to give themselves and their ethnic group a better life in U.S..
Unfortunately they don't care almost taking jobs from Americans and cutting in front of individuals that are going through the process of legally entering the U.S. for permanent residence.
It is it up the U.S. government and it's taxpayers to other fix problems created by illegal immigration? Your mother created the problem and expects everyone else to bail her out. Please don't make your mother out to be the victim and the U.S. parliament to be the bad guy here.
good for you.
If she received amnesty, why didn't she become a citizen? My parents received amnesty and followed through to become citizens.
My mom tried to legally procure a visa but her check book wasnt big enough to convince the American government that she was worth allowing within...

Way, way to many people pretended they needed to excape from El Salvador because of this cause.. that one. Many blame the United States for the unrest and the Civil War, and none of the above applied to a majority of those folks. In addition, those folks were needed in their own country to label it a decent place to live. Your Mother was probably rejected because he story couldn't be confirmed.
You were born surrounded by the United States? Your citizenship followed the citizenship of your parents. IF either one were citizens when you and your brother were born, that would mingy you are a citzen. Otherwise, your nationality follows your mothers citizenship.
The last time you told us this story, it was a different story unless at hand is a remarkable parallel with you and your brother going to the same school as the concluding story. Also making 4.0's.
I no longer believe you.
