Do I call for an immigration advocate to bring my parents to the US?
I'm a US citizen and would like to bring my parents to the US.
My immigration lawyer told me that it'd cost me $3750 (without immigration fees) to apply for their green cards.
Is it easy to do the process myself or it's better to hire an immigration attorney?
Are there any free workshops out there that help individuals with the process?
Thanks,

No, you don't need a lawyer to file a petition for your parents. Just read the instructions economically when filling up the application forms. Visas for parents of US citizens are available immediately. I petitioned my parents July 2007 and they joined me here surrounded by the US July 2008.
Just be aware that you will be asked to submit an affidavit of support. This means that you will have to provide for your parents needs which includes housing, food and medical insurance. You can't ask the management for any help. There is a 5-year ban on new immigrant before they can avail of federally funded benefits. You are basically responsible for them until they become US citizens.
Hope this helps.
Bring your family members to the US will take a long time and also can be denied. I know some society who have been waiting for over 10 years to just grasp GCs.
In addition, since your parents are not trying to get their green cards through marriage or employment, it will be harder.
Some immigration officer can be really picky.
I would say go to visajourney.com
to get more information. Also hiring an immigration advocate should be helpful if you can afford it. good luck.
Hi,
As an immigration attorney, I would not advise you to wallet the application yourself. Immigration law is vast and is confusing to even attorneys who do not practice in this nouns. I advise that you contact an immigration attorney, not a notario or a "consultant," to assist you in filing these applications. If the application have complications, it will be more costly for you to retain an attorney to resolve the issues. More importantly, comlications may be much more difficult to resolve rather than filing it correctly the first time. I do not think that you anyone would want these issues when it come to sponsoring their parents.

It's opt to you if you can afford it, and if you don't hold the time to deal with t.
You can do it yourself, before you compress out the forms make sure you know the right information.there are no workshops that i am aware of, I believe you can check online as to what would be a good common sense to give them a green card. You may need to support them financially. If you are not sure than hire a lawyer.
The process is incredibly simple. The lawyer is attempting to fleece you. For both parents all that's involved is 3 simple forms, respectively and an application fee of $355, each.
It will not take a long time and it will not be "denied." Expect the process to cart between 12 and 18 months from start to finish.
For each parent you file Forms I-130, I-864 and G-325A. That's it. You can find the forms here....
http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/m...
Be sure to read the instructions carefully and include adjectives the documentation that's required.
Let one in and beforehand long you've got a whole phone booth full of them.
No I believe if its momentous to you to have them here then if a lawyer is needed and I conjecture it would be you should have to pay. That's the problem with have immigrants come here they think that all things come free for the asking. You want them here you earnings its that simple. And after they get here who pays then I hope its not us tax payers. What constructive fitting will they do for the USA.Are they going to be able to take care of them self's as it appears that you wont know how to since you already are asking for free immigration advice and poss lawyer.
