No, they are not doing enough. They need to do something Much much more effective than they are doing very soon.
Incentive vs. Cost. The incentive to rid the country of illegal immigrants, while large, is not hulking enough to spend the limited resources on it with the discount the way it is. Its also not a very feasible way out. Mexico is only one border away. The amount of money it costs to put Jose Mexican back in Mexico, when he's immaculately capable of turning around and coming right back does not make it a worthwhile investment. It's not an investment at adjectives.
From a financial standpoint, the fact that immigrants are 'legal' or 'illegal' is expensive. One option would be to brand name everyone legal, and make them all payment taxes. Culturally and linguistically, that would be a nightmare. Mexifornia is more than bad enough. :P
Besides, a few centuries ago, a bunch of ethnically similar people walk in, kicked a bunch of 'here-firsts' out, thrashed their culture and made fools out of them. And they're so surprised when it happens to them.

'ABSOLUTELY NOT. Take away incentives and they will not have a reason to come here. NO job, education, welfare, birthright citizenship etc. It won't cost taxpayers anything and will save billions in federal spending twelve-monthly.

Ok the money saved by getting rid of illegals would pay for itself in the first year. We are spending almost 400 billion respectively year in social programs, healthcare, prison systems education and other programs being sucked dry by the unauthorized aliens.
