I be readily born contained by Bangladesh and in a minute I am an American citizen. Am I still a Bangladeshi citizen?

I am a natural born Bangladesh citizen. I had a combined attached Bangladesh passport with my mother (under her name) since I be only 5 years old. Then when I moved to the United States, I became an American citizen near an American passport after a few years.

Recently, the voting session has ended in Bangladesh. I be wondering if I would be able to vote in the next session within Bangladesh? Do I still maintain my citizenship in Bangladesh? Can I still vote?

The U.S does not recognize dual citizenship. So, if you are a citizen of Bangledesh, then you probably still are. In the eyes of the U.S Government, you are simply a U.S citizen.
First of, I'm not sure about whether you can cast your vote contained by next general election (GE) contained by 2013/14. However, we saw that this year prior to the GE there were representatives from Bangladesh Immigrants Association living in USA, UK and some European countries who met the Chief Election Commissioner of BD and demanded their right to vote contained by our GE. The demands were heard and no conclusive assurances were given any by the CEC or the Government of Bangladesh.

Since we saw that Awami League (AL) led alliance won landslide victory of our GE held yesterday on 29th December 2008 it is now expected that Bangladeshi expatriates and others holding dual-citizenship may be allowed to involve yourself in in our next GE, since their role in the nouns of our country has been acknowledged.

I think the BD Embassy within Washington DC may be approached for getting the latest information since they are inundated with such questions on day by day basis.

Btw, congratulations on becoming US citizen!
No. When you took the oath as a US citizen you renounced allegiance to all other governments.
YH of course you are from bangladesh because u were born there. its close to your mother giving birth to you but someone adopted u your birth mother is still ur really mother. so YH ur all officially Bangladeshi... no issue wot citzen u are u are still from bangladesh
Doubtful. Once you take the US oath of allegiance to become a US citizen (congratulations btw), you are no longer the citizen of any other country unless that country allows dual citizenship. Check next to the laws of your native country for that information.

Does that mean you can vote contained by that country's elections? Most likely no.
