Can I head off Canada while waiting for my refugee applicaton to be agreed?
I am a LEGAL United States citizen. My father was detained by immigration due to fraud that our immigration lawyer commited so after being bailed out he fear that all of our family would also be detained and decided the best solution be to go to Canada as refugees. We are originally from Colombia and for certain life-threatening reason we could not return. I have recently learned from my Canadian immigration officer that my U.S. citizenship be never taken away as my father said it would be. As you can imagine, this would make me want to return to the U.S. knowing that I am now out of danger from persecution but the thing about Canada is that you solely get one chance to apply, so if I drop the refugee claim right now I cant come rear legs and apply later for whatever reason it may be. So what I want to do is shift back to the U.S. and continue my life in that while all my papers get done here in Canada. But my grill is...can I do that? If I leave Canada while pending refugee acceptance will my application be revoked? Will I lose my one shot at becoming a Canadian citizen? Please respond beside as much detail as possible, I want to know as much as possible about this from as many sources as possible. Please state your source when you reply.

I don't think you should move off.... i mean, it kind of makes you look exceptionally un - refugee like, you know what I mean? They may assume you are trying to fraud them again.
You aren't in peril in a country of which you have citizenship, ie the USA, so you are not a refugee.
The refugee system is for people who enjoy no other country to go to. You will be in danger of deportation if you are not truthful something like your US citizenship if you speak to a Canadian official.
Technically, you are probably already in an illegal situatiion if you enjoy been admitted to Canada because of an untrue statement. Source(s): http://www.canadavisa.com/canadian-immig...
