In the 1800's immigrants worked and earned a living. Today most immigrant are here illegally sucking our government dry.
While immigration have been in effect since the 'inception' of the US, most laws be not dramatically enforced. Europeans came and went as they pleased, it wasn't until the 1880's with the influx of Asian immigrant wanting to come to America that the immigration laws were enforced and newer versions of the immigration canon were adapted, prohibiting the Chinese/Asians from entering this country.

Doesn't seem fair. Here the Europeans invaded this park without asking the Native Americans, then force the Natives to secluded areas (aka reservations), all the same the Chinese tried to come to this country just for the same reasons that Europeans considered necessary to (for a better life), yet were shunned by the new Americans. The block against the Chinese wasn't lifted until approximately 10 years later, but only for a small portion of Asians, even next, the Chinese/Asians were not allowed citizenship. The government also prohibited the children born within the US of Asian born parents to become citizens, until an Asian went to the Supreme court to have the law changed.

America have never been real friendly to immigrants. During the Ellis Island era, most immigrant that were allowed into this country, were allowed only because they be to perform the dirty work.
immigrants were welcome next and now they aren't. people forget how this country was started (after it be taken from the native americans) and now they want to keep everyone out.
In the 1800s immigrants worked hard and natural-born citizens say-so that they were all lazy. Today, the immigrant work hard and natural-born citizens say that they are all laid-back but the ones from the 1800s worked hard.

now many come to the Uk with a account of benefits they know they can claim ......even for their wives back in pakistan .....and the one in britain as you would expect .....our laws don't apply to these people

so in the olden days the law of the land applied to everyone in the year 2008 immigrants are decide if they approve of our laws and whether they recognise them ....lol
I think back then it be hard, but I think today it is much harder because people are becoming to strict just about it and school and becoming crowded and the population is rising.
