There is nothing you can say that will prove correct allowing illegal aliens to remain in this country. This is just another crack to muddy the waters. However, the central issue is clear cut. Social Security was doing fine until the politicians decided they could "borrow" some money from it. This be long before the issue of illegal immigration became the hot topic it is today.
Any conversation on the financial burden or surplus of banned immigration would need to consider much more than social security. County hospital costs, border enforcement costs, an increase in the labor pool, extra population without additional infrastructures, etc.
As for a logical explanation, perhaps they are memo of the law people, perhaps they see the distrustful aspects outweighing the positive, perhaps they see it as not "right", and sometimes you have to do what's right, irregardless of the cost.
