Answers:
Canadian PR application is based on a point system - age, years of work experience, education level, expression ability, etc. If you graduate from a Canadian university, you get points for that.

There are no downsides that I'm aware of, and yes, you can apply for PR while you're there as a student, as long as you enjoy enough points already.

You can check with the CIC to see if you have plenty points to apply right now. Source(s): http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/s…
1. Yes, it will allow you to apply for Federal skilled worker class after 1 year if you have enough points, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/s…

2. When your studies are over, you can apply for a post-grad work permission, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-… and from then on, you may qualify to apply for immigration as a graduate under a provincial nominee program, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/p… or you can work for a year and afterwards apply under Canadian experience class, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/c…

3. Yes, it's better to study in the same country. It get your foot in the door.

4. No

5. If you qualify to apply for Federal skilled worker right now, you can do it right now, that would be any as being one of 38 most wanted occupations or have a job offer. If not, you can qualify to apply after 1 year of studies. Aside from the beforementioned qualifiers, you also need to mark at least 67 points based on age, education, work experience, poetry skills etc.

6. Depends on your field of studies, your city, what kind of job you are inclined to take etc. You can get a student work permit to work up to 20 hours a week while you are studying, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-… You do entail to have been a student for 6 months before you can apply for this licence but you are allowed to work on-campus without a work permit.

7. No.
