The worldwide economy is in trouble. In many ways I might be silly to consider immigrating to the United States. The US is experiencing economic difficulties as is Ireland but for personal, familial reasons I want to move to the United States (preferably the ArkLaTex area) later this year. I am an archivist which would cover one of the most prominent bases, i.e. have a professional education. I worked and lived surrounded by the US (legally of course) from 1999 to 2007.
I have searched over the internet for resources to help me but looks as if most are trying to brand name a buck (who isn't) without guaranteeing me anything in return. The only bona fide operator I discovered seemed to be immigration attorneys who will help with a luggage but only once I have a real livelihood offer.

Are there any bona fide agencies that will deal beside immigrants?
Are there any employers that will consider immigrant?

I would like to work here too. Employers who would consider immigrants? Is that a joke? From my experience, they won't hire you unless.
Your best bet is to get a assignment with a company that has branches in both the US and Ireland.....next request a transfer. Most such companies have their own office that handle the paperwork.
