Is it court for an immigration advocate to hold your green card until you earnings them?
My husband has been going through his immigration process since 2005 through a lawyer...we hold spend thousand's of dollars already. He just got his 10 year green card sent to the lawyers organization. The lawyer called me yesterday and said they won't give it to us because we hold a $700 balance left with them. They said we enjoy to pay them $500 right now or they will hold it until we do. Is that legal for them to hold onto a affairs of state issued document that doesn't belong to them? It was supposed to come to our house and went to them instead...if it came to our house they never would know how to hold it hostage for $!!

Get another immigration Lawyer , who will probably find your green card and then hold it until you pay HIM
no---and he can be prosecuted for taking your mail at the very least--- and that's a felony
get a memo or voice recording of the lawyer demanding payment or he is going to preserve the green card
then call the police and have them gather round you at the lawyers office saying you want to cause a complaint
when the police arrive and you show Evidence that he has the green card he will be forced to give it to you or face a felony charge for taking your messages
i don't give attention to so, i guess maybe he's just using it as a way so you would clear him...
