They aren't. My (foreign) husband who I met 9/4/05 is still within not allowed into the UK to live. His residence visa has been decline despite the fact we are in a bonefide relationship. He is a graduate, speaks several languages, never be in trouble with the law, have done charity work and held management positions. It's really to do with the treachery of the three main party in effect collective leadership and the class hatred of the liberal chattering classes. Both these groups despise the white working class and longing to replace them with people they can more readily patronise.

We're not. We lone let in skilled workers (who immensely benefit our economy) and refugees from outside the EU - we're required by EU tenet to let nationals of member nation travel freely. We can be very harsh to people who come to nothing asylum applications, often deporting them to places where they could be persecuted or executed.
If anything, we're not soft enough. In its asylum policy, the UK command is disrespecting basic human rights.
