Why aren't immigrant allowed to come to the United States?
I know that the issue of illegal immigration is big in the United States. But how does the government want whether an immigrant can or cannot come the U.S?

I don't know. There's a lot of hot guys out there that should be living here.
The answer. A certain # of immigrants are allowed to immigrate from EACH country respectively year.
The reason is we want them to assimilate to our culture, not the other way around. Immigration can also be used as a weapon to influence another country. An exaggerated example would be enough Mexicans moving to the US and consequently voting to annex Texas to Mexico.
There is an approval process; those which come into the US must follow that process to be granted a visa.

i don't agree with who ever said that immigrant are just disrespecting
the directive the only law they broke is having t come here beside out documentation if they broke any other laws they would be deported why would they risk that
theres many other criminals out there
family just got an eye out for immigrants and let somebody know the truth weather there illegal or legal.
It decides by who does it through legal channels and who do it immorally. Immigrants are allowed in the US - if they were not, there would be a much smaller population and those would be of American Indians. Like anything else, if you do not meet the terms the law, you are a criminal,
Immigration is supposed to be based on a persons post skills and jobs available.
Unfortunately our gov gives out visa and green cards indiscriminately.

Do not confuse immigration near the invasion of illegal aliens that have no respect for our laws or customs and are here to basically suck what ever they can from this country.
Actually, the US takes within more immigrants than all other countries combined.
they apply for a green card and when they have it they can come to the U.S.
By setting out a system that allows faultless people who fit their criteria to enter....
and the criteria is very simple ...you apply for a visa .. if you get one you can come
if you dont catch one... you are not wanted
