If one marry a Canadian citizen, how long will it help yourself to for the alien to go and get the beyond repair residence card?

In normal cases 4 months. In some complicated cases it can whip longer than that. I have heard one couple waiting for 4 years. Marriage doesn't guarantee immigration acceptance.

Sept 2007 - Canadian (me) married my American hubby in Michigan
Sept 2007 to March 2008 - I lived in the US with my hubby minus filing paperwork, I did nothing all daylight
March 6, 2008 - We filed I-130, I-485 & I-765
April 2, 2008 - I had my biometrics appointment
June 4, 2008 - Immigration interview
That depends on if you do an outside Canada application or an inside Canada application
outside canada taking 6 to 12 months depending on the country.
inside canada taking on average 18 months to 2 years.
