The Canadian government has prepared a chart stipulating the minimum amount you must prove to immigrate to Canada. As a practical thing, however, unless you have a job lined up already, you will requirement quite a bit more than that.
Cost of moving household goods to Canada, and transportation for each family circle member.
Down payment on a house if you want to purchase, or 3 months' rent to secure an apartment, plus at smallest 3-6 months' rent in your reserves. Utilities deposits and funds to pay initial bills until you have an income.
Transportation: funds to purchase saloon, registration, driver's training, license fees, auto insurance. You will need transportation to work if you have a job, and for mission hunting if you don't.
Canada charges very steep taxes on everything, so prices will be tremendously higher than what you are accustomed to.
You should have at smallest twice as much as the minimum required. Anything less than that and you could be in very reflective trouble very fast.
