The UK have gone mad, there is such a condition as collective madness and we hold it.
Imagine asking the real British Victorians that someday we would allow 6 million immigrants into the UK including 3,000,000 Muslims, They would have said: "Britain will never be that mad" but we are and it is the biggest mistake surrounded by the entire history of what we now call the UK
I don't conjecture it has anything to do with many of these western countries going to their countries centuries ago and taking their lands and nation to do as they please with, surely not!

I'm not sure that anyone relly asks "How do you feel more or less the country you're entering?" but it is assumed that one wishes to get out of the country they're leaving, and that is asked. Once they're here, we hope they will come to love ours. Some do, some don't, but they're free to choose. I know that sounds easy to fool, and maybe it is, but we give them a chance and that may be what it's adjectives about.
