How long does it pinch to live within America? (Canadian)?
I am currently 17 years old (My birthday is in September) and I plan on moving and living in the USA near my boy-friend (depending on if we are still together).
We've been dating for a year and we are still going strong, I have visited him, stayed within the state of Oregon for a week and met his family.
My parents think this is a wonderful idea, I've lived contained by Canada all my life as have my parents. I hold read up a lot on becoming a resident and I understand that I must be 18 years or older to apply.. But I haven't found the answer to some question.
What exactly is "naturalization"? I understand that you have to be a permanent resident of the United States of America to apply for it, averagely you enjoy to have lived in the States for about 5 years (sometimes less).
But how do I become a resident? Are in attendance forms and papers I must fill out? I have my passport.. Or am I to take a trip to the States, live in attendance, and then apply? I'm terribly confused!
Answers:
You have to apply for a green card and wait for at lowest possible five years. To get the green card, you have to apply and state a reason why you intend to reside here. Having a boyfriend doesn't lend a hand unless it is a fiancee, you need a specific job.

Or you can try to qualify as a refugee though I regard you'll fare better where you are.
You need a sponsor any immediate family member or US Employer who will petition you for green card (Permanent Residence). For kith and kin based, you need US Citizen fiance, spouse, parents or sibling.
Your petitioner fills out I-130 and subsequent you need to apply for the green card. You need immigrant visa (green card) to live and work in US.
