Should local police enforce federal immigration law?
Answers:
yes please =)
When Federal government fail to enforce the laws, it's in the nations collateral to allow local government to enforce them for them.
They are laws and the only those that don't want local government to enforce them are criminals or those that have ties to criminals or illegals, after all, clad "real" Americans want laws enforced no matter who does it. Those that don't want laws enforced hold ulterior motives, plain and simple, and the motives don't' including respecting the U.S.
I sure wish they could and thy would
I don't care who enforce laws as long as they are enforced.
Yes, they should. It is apparent that Federal is not doing the job they are employed to do.
hell yes
Yes.
It would save time and money due to the reason that if the local police arrested an illegal immigrant, the poilce would not own to call ICE agents to enforce federal immigration laws. The illegal immigrant would be deported lot more faster which results surrounded by saving USA more tax money.
NO! it's a FEDERAL job! That's approaching asking "would you rather have Jose the illegal immigrant landscaper subsequent door" or "Chad the child rapist who has several warants against him"? and Chad is still on the lose because the police are concentrating on illegals and not violent criminals.
The police should be making our streets safe, not hunting down dishwashers and landscapers that are here basically to make a better living. That's just taking away another profession from a border patrol or ICE agent.
A good example is the "self proclaimed toughest sherrif in American....Joe Arpaio" of Arizona. He's been doing his so-called "Crime Sweeps" that newly happen to be in Hispanic neighborhoods, to only bust Taco vendor and Dishwashers, not the violent criminals that are roaming the streets of AZ. He's abused his power and has even put an immigration hold on a US Citizen that didn't know a lick of spanish. By doing all these "Crime Sweeps", he have reduced the Sherrif deputies response time to the real death threatening calls.
So, ask youself! would you to some extent have the police responding to the call you made on a house invasion, or have them wasting their time catching taco vendor?

He is responsible for a critical and dangerous shortage of personnel in both the jails and patrol.
This condition is unsafe for the officer, the inmates, and the public. This situation leads to more lawsuits which results in more millions of tax dollars idle.
Arpaio has created a critical and dangerous shortage of deputy sheriffs needed to perform fundamental regulation enforcement services in the unincorporated areas of the County.
Deputies that could be assigned to patrol, are assigned instead as personal bodyguards for Sheriff Arpaio.
Detention officers, desperately needed in the jail, are assigned to the labor-intensive, publicity-producing chain gangs in instruct to get Arpaio on more TV news programs.
No and I for one will be against that ideal. That would be approaching changing their story. First they would be saying these Human Beings are not really breaking any Laws as they have be for some time now. And this would take them to they are breaking Laws now let Arrest them don't make much sense at all. On top of that it will only supply one more reason to Question our Justice System which is already in Limbo. So nearby is no way I would Support anything of the such. Besides Picture that Local Officers would have a Field Day with that Ideal. Author, Eddie Smith Source(s): djhightek2000@yahoo.com
