How long will it nick until the US have a population of 1 billion?
and dont go into any details about legal, unjust citizens, residents, immigrants etc.
Just answer how long would it take before 1 billion ethnic group legal or illegal are on US soil including US territories

At the current rate of worldwide population growth and immigration to the US, it should take less than 200 years. We should hit 500 million by the end of the century, and 1 billion contained by less than another 100 years. Of course, worldwide catastrophes could significantly reduce population growth, and the US may cut put a bet on on immigration.

I believe they estimate the population to be 500 million by 2040 - so I would guess by 2060. Considering it took over 200 years to top 300 million. It would take at least another 200 years to top 1 billion.
Interestingly, when India become independent in 1947, it had about one and the same population as the U.S. right now. Today, it has over 1 Billion people, so, supposedly, it can be done but the problem is, ironically, only poor people have abundantly of kids.
I hope that never happens. It won't.
