How to move from Canada to USA?

I'm 18 years old, and i'd like to emigrate to USA from Canada. What would be the easiest way I should move about about this?

Here's my situation:
My grandmother moved to Canada with my mother from USA. So both my grandma and mother are american citizens. I was born surrounded by Canada, and still have close family members within USA such as aunts and uncles, etc.

What would be the easiest way to get permanent residence? Or even citizenship if applicable.

I be reading about green cards via family members, but didn't know if my situation would fit into the guidelines.

If your mother is a US citizen and lived within the US for five years (two of which after age 14), then you acquired US citizenship at birth:

"Birth Abroad to One Citizen and One Alien Parent in Wedlock: A child born in a foreign country to one U.S. citizen parent and one alien parent acquires U.S. citizenship at birth under Section 301(g) INA provided the citizen parent was physically present surrounded by the U.S. for the time period required by the law applicable at the time of the child's birth. (For birth on or after November 14, 1986, a period of five years physical presence, two after the age of fourteen is required. For birth between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, a spell of ten years, five after the age of fourteen are required for physical presence in the U.S. to transmit U.S. citizenship to the child."

You can apply for a Certificate of Citizenship (link below), which is required to get a US Passport.

Good luck!

ADD: If your parents were not married when you be born, the residency rules for your mother are even less strict: she must have lived in the US for 1 continuous year. Source(s): http://travel.state.gov/law/info/info_60...

Your mother can sponsor you but this may clutch several years. Being under 21 is a big help though. However, if you go and live next to her, you can get an F-1 visa right away to go to college in the USA. You can work subdivision time then as well to help compensate for college. The international student office they have at most US colleges can assist you with the details.

The NAFTA visa is singular for people with a university degree. See www.goodbyecanada.com
