How to bring girlfriend from another country into Canada?
Hello, I am from Canada, Ontario and I would like my girlfriend whose from the Phillipines to come and live with me. What type of paper work would I obligation? and if thats possible?

you cannot sponsor a girlfriend.
you can however sponsor a common-law wife (oops she's catholic - thats probably a no-no) or you can sponsor a WIFE.

If you plan on marrying her, better do it in the Philippines---that'll reclaim you time in processing the papers..takes about 6 months to process for a spousal application. You might also want to hire an immigration consultant and legal representative. I could recommend a consultant and lawyer...they helped me and my husband prepare the necessary documents we needed.
Your gf also wants to have a medical exam (it's compulsory) but I suggest you do it just before you dispatch in your application. Aside from that, she has to attend guidance and counseling (this is for spouses of foreign nationals). She can't leave the Philippines if she doesn't hold the CFO certificate and sticker on her passport.
