Coming to Canada as a guest if i hold PR imminent surrounded by USA?
I have a stamp with PR in a my passport. Thats method I do not need a visa to come to to Canada. But the stamp is going to expire in 2010 January. Can I still cross a border and come to Canada. My status is still pending surrounded by USA, actually was denied because of not apperiance in the interview, but I file a motion to repoen a case and my lawyer said it will be fine and my status is PR pending. Can I cross a border and come to Canada as a guest. For me the most important thing is to get to Canada because of my fiance and I do not will to come back to USA. Will they let me through? Because I worried also about a entry that my PR Stamp will expire on 27 January 2010. And if somebody knows if it is true I need my stamp to be valid at least 6 months, but I consider this is approaching a visa, even it is expires tomorrow you still can enter. Can somebody help with advise.
What they check when I take off a country? Do they check my status?
Answers:
If you had a green card from the US, you would not need a visa to enter Canada. With a PR stamp, I don't know. You should contact the Canada border services, see http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/menu-eng.html and ask. If you are from a visa-exempt country, you should also not have a problem entering Canada.
