Passport designation metamorphosis?
Is it legal to change the name on your passport if it is not through matrimonial? I am looking to change my name before marry my wife so that she can change her name to that name as ably. Is this possible? Does anyone know?

You have to go through the courts and petition yourself to get your term changed. Then you submit that to the State Dept. and change your passport. But you need the first part first.
Then you will requirement to change your license in order to pick up your marriage license. That will show residency. Some states will allow you to just have a passport to return with the marriage license.
After that she just does what every couple does. She takes her wedding license and applies for a name change on her passport. My wife has changed everything else but she as various others don't bother..... as long as you have you marriage certificate on you can still fly. Even if the tickets are booked within her new name and the passport has her antediluvian name.
I am really curious. Why would you be bothering with all of this up to that time you are getting married? On one end women start to think. If he is strong and confident why would he even bother?
I can see why someone might wish to do it if say aloud you had your stepfathers name or something. But otherwise this could just be attended to subsequent without introducing the time, money and discord it will take to attend to all of this. You are introdiucng again discord.
