Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio raided Waterworld and Golfland’s Sunsplash park in Mesa this summer arresting nine race who were charged with being contained by the U.S. illegally or working via fake papers.
Golfland has denied wrongdoing within the case saying it obeys federal and state immigration law. The Consulate did not respond to a request for comment.
On a related note, the U.S. State Department has included the Mexican border town of Nogales in its travel alerts for U.S. citizens. Officials cite a rise contained by drug-related violence, kidnappings and murders in Tijuana, Juarez, Nogales and other northern Mexico areas.
Nogales sits across the border from its Arizona counterpart of the same christen.
