How biddable are non immigrant visas for?
My daughter mother who is (mexican) has valid passport. but I have never seen visa. Passport is devout for 10 years--2001-2011. I cant get honest answer out of her family. American stepfather, mexican mother. She said she can go to mexico but cant com pay for.... Why, she said that's the way it is. She wants to get married, but I don't because im not 100% within love. And a lot of secrets, I ask her does immigration know where you live and she said no they don't ask. Reading in the order of i94 you have to inform them don"t you. Im afraid she is illegal but family and her wont voice it.. Help me please. I never heard of a 10 year visa unless you go back to your home country. Is this true
Answers:
Mexican nationals can apply for a B1/B2 visitor's visa, which is good for 10 years. This is normally simply granted to people with significant ties to Mexico, and who are well stale financially.
I wouldn't marry her, because I'm not sure she wants to settle down with you; she may just want to grasp immigration benefits from this arrangement.
Yes, there are visas valid for 10 years, others valid for 5 years, others for six months, and so on. BUT the visa doesn't own anything to do with the I-94. The immigration officials can issue (or deny) the time of staying in the US according to their own criteria.
One can hold a valid visa for 10 years but at the entrance port the official can only allow the person to stay for 2 months, smaller number or more time. I know a person whose passport was stamped for 5 years, so she didn't need to donate the country for those 5 years.
I would suspect she is evil. A passport alone won't get you back and forth between mexico and the US. She should have other paperwork to prove her allowed status. I worked for Social Services for 30 years and it is unbelievable the number of hispanic aliens that are illegal, but have manage to get a bogus green card. My experience has been, the ones that are here justifiably keep all their paperwork in lay down and readily available. The ones that were secretive and didn't provide proof usually done up being illegal. By the way, when citizens enter the country, immigration certainly does ask where they will be living.
