Nothing now. You're one of us.
Ask an immigration Lawyer to explain you your rights. He may probably stipulate any rights you might be entitled to as a legal alien. His answers will depend on how you become a resident, which you didn't specify. There are cases in which you might qualify for governments benefits! In most cases your sponsor is responsible until you become citizen. But don't become a public charge, it may have a distrustful impact on your statue...
But, find something to do, anything, or any job. It's just the begining. Or go fund to school for some degree. It's hard, and it's worth it! 2 yrs from today you'll be OK and Stable.
A big part of you human being approved for a green card was because you had proof that your sponsor could support you. If you need financial relieve, I have no idea why you were approved because you should not own been. You can get unemployment if you have a job and lost it but as a Permanent Resident, you don't qualify for some government programs.
You can catch unemployment if you lose your job, that is adjectives. Your sponsor is supposed to support you until you become a citizen
In establish to get a green card, someone proved that they could financially support you. If they don't they can get into trouble, because that would mean they lied on Immigration documents, and at a obverse to face interview if there was one.
If you be granted a green card with Refugee status, your local Department of Human Services (welfare office) will help you out with food assistance and change assistance if you qualify. Another thing you may try: call around to local churches... if there is backing out there, they may be able to assist you in finding it. Best of luck!
You have a 5 year command.
nothing
didn't you had to sign a waiver that said you wont ask for benefits?
