Question roughly speaking the N-400 application for citizenship?
I am currently filling out the form to apply for citizenship after being a permanent resident for 5 years.
surrounded by the question asking about addresses within the past 5 years, it asks for dates living in the address surrounded by the mm/dd/yyyy format
but when I look at the pdf of the instructions in filling out the form, the instructions say to put date in mm/yyyy format
I don't remember the exact dates so the mm/yyyy format would be more convenient for me
am I supposed to estimate the exact date then?

The format you should use is mm/yyyy. If the online form won't adopt it use the 1st of each month.
