Immigrant Visa Long Stay (GUAM Port of Entry)?

i have a friend US immigrant she is filipino citizen. so whenever she goes home to philippines she only requests to stay 6 months and must come back here to US before 6 months to keep her visa valid. Now there's something she have to do in Manila, and she thinks she might need to stay longer than 6 months. Question is, can she lately fly to Guam and have her immigrant visa stamped with entry and then run back to Manila again. That way she doesnt have to fly adjectives the way to Mainland to cost her too much on her pocket. Is Guam a valid place to do that? It's a US territory right? please serious answers only.

Yes, Guam is a section of the United States, however, there is no rule which says that a permanent resident have to come back into the U.S. every six months to retain LPR status. The question is, where did she did that notion?

An LPR is allowed to be gone for up to a year with just the green card. A reentry permit would allow an LPR to be outside the U.S. even longer as the authorization is valid for two years.

But remember, if she isn't really living in the U.S., the length of her absence isn't going to event. If she is not maintaining her LPR status, she'll be considered an abandonment case no thing how long she sticks her toe inside the U.S. to preserve her status.

It's a fallacy to believe one trip a year will preserve LPR status.
